Freedom Flotilla Solidarity Vigil, 1 June 2010
For the sake of Gaza, the Freedom Flotilla Solidarity Vigil, organised by the Coalition for Justice and Peace in Palestine at Sydney Town Hall on Tuesday 1st June was a great success. More than 4000 people were there to show their concern at very short notice.
The event was formally endorsed by the Australian Nursing Federation Federal Office, Maritime Union Australia Sydney Branch, the CFMEU NSW, The Greens NSW, the Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies, Australians for Palestine, The Greens NSW, The Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies at The University of Sydney, and the International Commission of Jurists, Australia.

The rally was successful because of the assistance of many, many large and small organisations and the 4000 people of Sydney who came to the Town Hall on a cold, wet night to show their support for the people of Gaza and and end to the illegal occupation of Palestine.

CJPP asks you to be prepared for further emergency action if the Israeli military takes action against the remaining three boats of Gaza Freedom Flotilla, including the "Rachel Corrie" from Ireland. These boats will soon attempt to sail to Gaza.
